Since the beginning of my stay in Bilbao, I have had multiple good bar and restaurant experiences. My first sit down restaurant experience was at Old Shanghai in Casco Viejo. Though it wasn’t our first choice for the night, it was still high quality asian cuisine. It was a group of five girls that I ate with, and we decided to share 4 appetizers and 3 meals. My favorite appetizer was the sirloin sashimi, because it had a balsamic marinade and it was very finely sliced. My favorite course of the meal was scallops and vegetable dish. The scollops were cooked perfectly and I really enjoyed how they were stir fried with the vegetables. We originally wanted to eat at Eluno which was recommended, however though we waited till 8:00 PM for it to open, it happened to be closed on that thursday night. I do look forward to going back another night. So far, my favorite cafe bar that I attended was La Orilla. The wine we ordered was Tikola and is a wine native to the basque country. And considering that we ordered 4 bottles, I think it was pretty good. We had an exceptional experience here because towards the end of dinner there was live music. It was a very culturally different experience because the music consisted of eclectic patterns of clapping and a man singing very strongly that made very weird faces. Needless to say it was a performance that you definitely could not experience at home.
MY FIRST BLOG:
Me llamo shannon y tengo 19 años.
